Thank you!
Dear Parents and Campers,
We would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all the Camp Parents who enrolled their children in Fun In The Sun this summer. Our main goal was to give the children a safe environment where they could be kids having fun, seeing old friends, and making new friends. We were limited in the number of activities we could offer. We had hoped to offer air hockey, ping pong, foosball, etc., but the pool requested that we didn’t even though we felt we had sufficient safety measures in place. We honored their request.
I do want to acknowledge our art teacher, Amy Coverdale. She was amazing. Each day she introduced a new art activity to her classes. She incorporated the gifts of nature. The children enjoyed exploring their environment searching for their perfect leaf, their exquisite rock, or their desired walking stick. She introduced the scientific method by creating fluffy slime, cloud dough, shaving cream marbling, bouncy balls, and lava lamps. Each child had the opportunity to create a balloon stress ball which is much needed during this season. She also had many art activities that allowed the children to express their own talent and creativity with the creation of masks, paper cup basket weaving, swimming jellyfish, fabric felt pillows, tissue paper stained glass, giant lunch bag stars, and many more. Friendship bracelets and their perler beads were also a camp favorite.
We also want to recognize and thank our counselors who were instrumental in keeping their campers safe with the constant reminder to sanitize their hands.
We hope the start of the campers school year has gone well for both them and you, parents. We are wishing all of you a safe journey as we continue to navigate the months ahead. We thank God for His protection over us this summer and are praying for an end to this virus. We hope to see you for the summer of 2021 at both locations, PSC and USG.
Love to all,
Rob Carter
